This Sunday at 10am we are privileged to have Tito Amaya, Misa musician extraordinaire, providing and leading the music for our church picnic service at Wilshire Park. Also, the William Byrd Festival is coming in August.
During this coming Sunday’s 10am service we will have special musical offerings from flutists Patti Evans and Brian Fairbanks.
The Rev. Sherman Hesselgrave will not only be presiding on Sunday but will be on the piano in duets with Hannah Brewer on the organ.
This Sunday at our 10 am service we celebrate the 4th of July weekend through our musical choices.
A musical highlight will be a harpsichord prelude by François Couperin (pictured here) called Les Barricades Mystérieuses (The Mysterious Barricades).
Huge thanks from the music staff of St. Michael’s to everyone who chipped in their time, talents, and/or money to make our 2022 Broadway Night fundraiser such a success!
For the summertime, you can expect to hear a variety of soloists and small vocal ensembles as our choirs take a break until September
I can hardly believe – the choir season is coming to an end! We have had an epic year: back in September, we had our first in-person rehearsals since the pandemic began, but with serious safety precautions in place and our numbers in liturgy very restricted. For the St. Michael’s Singers, that means that we really have only had a handful of full-choir liturgies. I have been inspired by their ability to sing glorious liturgy with a rotating roster of singers, even to the point where from week to week and service to service it was as if each featured a unique ensemble.
