Music for June 9

Huge thanks from the music staff of St. Michael’s to everyone who chipped in their time, talents, and/or money to make our 2022 Broadway Night fundraiser such a success! Initial estimates indicate we raised an amazing $9000 after expenses, despite a new format, location, and time of year (thanks to COVID). Thank you for supporting the music program, our paid section leaders, and our invaluable choir volunteers and special instrumentalists throughout the year.

As we move from 9am and 11am Sunday morning services to a single 10am service this Trinity Sunday for the summertime, you can expect to hear a variety of soloists and small vocal ensembles as our choirs take a break until September. For Trinity Sunday we have two organ arrangements of the hymn tune “Nicaea” (also known as “Holy, holy holy! Lord God Almighty!” or #362 in our Hymnal 1982) as well as a movement of a trio sonata by J.S. Bach to celebrate the trinity. Meanwhile, our service music and liturgy is an attempt to combine the styles of the 9am and 11am services. We hope you will enjoy worshiping together this summer!
