Our summer highlights continue with an exciting array of soloists lined up for Sunday mornings in July.

Sunday’s 10am service will feature a mix of hymns designated for the 5th Sunday after Pentecost as well as for Independence Day.

Some of our hymns and instrumental voluntaries this coming Sunday were chosen In recognition of Juneteenth on Monday, June 19. We commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans by singing traditional Spirituals like “Glory, glory, hallelujah!” and hearing the music of the great turn of the century African-American ragtime composer and pianist Scott Joplin (seen above).

WOW! Thank you to everyone who attended, performed in, volunteered for, and/or donated to our Broadway Night music program fundraiser this past weekend!

Broadway Night has arrived! Tickets are still available at the door both nights on Friday and Saturday for this year’s music program fundraiser, “The Rhythm of Life.”

Hannah Brewer and Ensemble Boulanger in a voice and piano recital called The Circle of Pauline Viardot. Brian Fairbanks will offer a flute recital in the nave at 4pm along with organist John Stuntebeck. Broadway Night is returning on June 2 & 3!

Ensemble Boulanger, led by Co-Artistic Directors Hannah Brewer and Emma Riggle (a fellow Episcopalian musician) will present a voice/piano lecture recital at St. Michael’s on Friday, May 12 at 7pm.

On Sunday, April 30, Sherman Hesselgrave will join Hannah in delighting us with two piano/organ duets for his final Sunday as interim!

We are very pleased to continue our long-established tradition of inviting the Portland Brass Quintet to play for our Easter Sunday services. We look forward to the festive atmosphere they bring to such an important and joyful feast day.
