Music for June 11

WOW! Thank you to everyone who attended, performed in, volunteered for, and/or donated to our Broadway Night music program fundraiser this past weekend! Final numbers are still coming in, but it looks like we did really well, including ticket sales and silent auction proceeds. We feel the love and appreciate your support so much. What awesome, talented singers we have at St. Michael’s, and what a generous, music-loving congregation!

We continue this summer with a variety of vocal and instrumental soloists on Sunday mornings. This Sunday the harpsichord (tucked away in the alcove on the left) is featured in works by French Baroque composers Jean-Henri d’Anglebert (1629-1691) and François Couperin (1668-1733). Listen for the “unmeasured,” almost improvisatory prelude, as well as the enigmatic “mysterious barricades” at the offertory.
