Music for July 9

Our summer highlights continue with an exciting array of soloists lined up for Sunday mornings in July. July 9 will feature a solo from soprano Beth Ilem, who is a member of the St. Michael’s Singers, a vestry member, and an Immigrant Welcoming Congregation team leader. Beth will sing an arrangement of the Negro Spiritual Plenty Good Room. On Pride Sunday (July 16), a summer pickup choir will sing “We Walk in Love” from the Justice Choir Songbook. On July 23 we welcome longtime St. Michael’s Singer baritone Josh English to sing the famous Bach aria “Bist du bei mir,” accompanied on harpsichord. Parishioner Chad Southwell plays a variety of tunes on violin on July 30.

Following the 10am service on July 30, please join us in the Nativity Hall for a popup music recital of piano, violin, and other instrumental pieces from our youngsters or anyone wishing to show off their musical skills. Prepare a piece and share it during coffee hour for this informal forum-time showcase. All are welcome to participate!
