A Note from the Transition Minister

The gospel text this Sunday is familiar, Luke’s Good Samaritan. It’s simple: a man suffers assault and lies beside the road. Good and religious people pass by, for many reasons. Then a man who no one would guess has it in him stops and cares deeply for the fallen man, binding his wounds, finding him a place to rest and heal, showing him mercy.

Puzzle/Game Exchange Continues

Our June book exchange is over, though there are still a couple of tables of books in the Nativity hall for you to peruse. July is jigsaw-puzzle and board-game exchange month! Do you have stacks of puzzle boxes and board games filling up your shelves? Transition Update – June 16

The Profile Committee is entering the final weeks of its mission as it prepares to write the final draft, edit it, and design the final version for publication. Next the final version will be submitted to the Vestry for their approval, and then to the Diocese for their approval. After that it will be ready to launch.
In the meantime, here is a brief introduction to some of the folks who have been working so hard to bring this about. This is an accomplished, thoughtful, passionate group of people, and it’s interesting to learn more about their backgrounds and why they chose to serve on the Parish Profile Committee.

A Note from the Transition Minister, June 9

Beloved, what bubbles up in you when you read this?
‘Like a path through the forest, Sabbath creates a marker for ourselves so, if we are lost, we can find our way back to our center. ‘Remember the Sabbath’ means ‘Remember that everything you have received is a blessing. Remember to delight in your life, in the fruits of your labor. Remember to stop and offer thanks for the wonder of it.’
