Much of the music we will sing and hear for our Reckoning with Racism liturgies this Sunday is based on African-American spirituals.
Choral Evensong is coming right up on Wednesday, October 19 at 7pm. Join the St. Michael’s Singers for this special mid-week service as day turns to night, offering hymns, readings, psalms and prayers for the Feast of St. Luke.
The music of classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) will be highlighted during Sunday’s 9:00 am and 11:00 am services.
Looking ahead, we invite you to two music-program events. Soup & Sing! is on Wednesday, October 12, at 5:30 pm. Children, families, parents and singers of all ages are welcome to come share a simple soup supper before we sing together.
Also,, our first Choral Evensong since before the pandemic will be held on Wednesday, October 19, at 7:00 pm. The choir is preparing Stanford’s “Magnificat” and “Nunc dimittis in G,” Henry Balfour Gardiner’s “Evening Hymn,” and lots more transcendent music!
The Saints & Singers Choir is back for the new choir season this Sunday at the 11:00am service. Meanwhile, our 9:00am service will feature music by the German Romantic composer Johannes Brahms.
This Sunday, in celebration of our patronal feast day, the St. Michael’s Singers will sing two choral anthems at the 9am and 11am services.

This Sunday’s organ voluntaries are by William Byrd (1540-1623), in honor of the Byrd Festival
At 10am this Sunday our summer choir of volunteers will sing an anthem by the late Stephen Paulus (1949-2014), with Brian Fairbanks on flute.
