Update from Jr. Warden for the People Stephanie English
It has become increasingly clear to me that one of the hidden jobs of being a rector is to encourage the community to be involved in the work of the church by serving on various committees. As Jr. Warden for the People, that job has been delegated to me.
If you are interested in serving on a committee for the search process and would like more information on the various committees, click on one or more of the following. The charters describe the scope of work for each committee and the length of commitment. Click here for the Expression of Interest form, (en español) which describes the information needed from you.
Please submit a letter of interest to me by email detailing the committee you are interested in, your contact information, why you are interested in serving and the gifts and talents you bring to the committee. Letters of interest must be received by January 12th, 2022. If you have already expressed an interest being part of the process, look for an email from me this coming week.
The annual meeting is fast approaching, and we will soon be electing new vestry members as well as members of the endowment committee and delegates to the diocesan convention. If you are interested in being a vestry candidate, it is not too late. Each year, we ask the candidates for vestry to submit a short bio to introduce themselves to the congregation and describe their call to serve on the vestry. Please submit a photo and your bio to me by email no later than January 12th so that they can be included in the Weekly Messenger/e-blast on January 13th. A vestry candidate forum is planned for Jan 23rd, with more details to follow in the weekly e-blast.
Other committee openings:
• Sanctuary Standing committee
• Personnel committee
• Stewardship committee
• Endowment committee
• Delegates to diocesan convention
I ask that you prayerfully consider serving the St. Michael’s community via one of these committees and contact me if you have any questions.
— Stephanie English, Jr. Warden for the People
