A choral anthem will be offered this Sunday, August 20 at the 10am service. A summer pickup choir will sing Stephen Paulus’s simple but effective setting of Lift up our hearts, O King of Kings, with Brian Fairbanks on flute. We’ll also hear some organ voluntaries by Byrd (pictured) in honor of the William Byrd Festival, which ends on Sunday, as we’ve been commemorating the 400th anniversary of the English Renaissance composer’s death.

To round out the summer, the Misa Coro and musicians will lead the service music at the Parish Picnic on August 27, and Brian will sub as guest musician on September 3 while Hannah is away on her honeymoon. Thank you to all who offered their musical talents this summer as we heard a variety of vocal and instrumental solos as well as small choral ensembles.
