Feast of All Saints/Día de Todos los Santos

On Sunday, November 5, we celebrate All Saints Sunday, a day to honor our deceased loved ones. The names of many of those who died since last All Saints are listed in the bulletins and will be read aloud during the services. Some of those who attend the 1:00 service set up the Altar de los Muertos in the church last Sunday, and there are photos on the altar of some of our loved ones. These photographs and remembrances represent the “great cloud of witnesses” which surround us. For more reading on the Feasts of All Saints & Souls, click here.

In addition, the IWC core group is hosting a second annual celebration of Día de la Muertos. They are hosting a special event after the 11:00 am service and before the 1:00. The skulls and paper flowers will be back for decorating, and there will be special treats. Everyone is invited!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders, and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. — Hebrews 12:1
