We could be quite busy at our Holy Week services beginning with Maundy Thursday tonight. Please remember that we may park after 5:00 pm on the right-hand side (west side) of the Liebert & Liebert Accountants lot, 4300 NE Broadway, and in the Broadway Medical Clinic lot. We may park on both sides of the Liebert building in the clinic lot on Sunday.
The Triduum—the Great Three Days—begins tonight with the Maundy Thursday liturgy. In the setting of the Last Supper, Jesus gives his disciples a way to remember him and his ministry—the Eucharist, and he models servant leadership by washing their feet.
“Palm Sunday is the first day of Holy Week (the final week of Lent) and honors Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem as depicted in the Gospels. As Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem, crowds gathered in the streets laying coats in his path, thus treating Jesus like royalty. they also laid palm branches, an ancient symbol of victory and peace, in the road.”

Over the last few months, I’ve met with many of you to learn about your lives, hear of the dreams God’s planted in your hearts, and weave a story of where the Spirit is alive at St. Michael’s. It’s been–you have been—a gift, overflowing with pain, honesty and hope. In one of these conversations, one among you reflected on their experience of this parish’s practices, and I scrambled to write it in my trusty notebook: ‘Duty does things well, but love does things beautifully.’

We are offering a Transition Update forum on Sunday, April 10, at 12:15 pm. As we move forward in our
Senior Warden held a hybrid forum on Sunday, March 20, after the 11:00 am service. He discussed the church’s finances, among other subjects.
On February 9, a bipartisan group of senators introduced S3623, the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act (VAWA) of 2022. The bill, which would authorize VAWA through 2027, preserves advances made in previous reauthorization bills and includes several additional improvements to the current law.
