Next week, this country faces a transition in government that will undoubtedly bring significant change and challenge. With you, I look ahead with a mix of emotions and a sense of uncertainty about what lies ahead, and also with a sense of resolve to do what is given us to do. We are called to uphold values rooted in our baptismal covenant, to clarify our commitments and priori-ties as a parish, and to strengthen our connections to one another in loving and mutually supportive community.

Candidates’ Forum on Jan. 19

This coming Sunday, January 19, all are encouraged to attend the candidates’ forum at 10:15 am in the Nativity Hall. The candidates for vestry and as delegates to convention will introduce themselves and talk a little bit about why they are running for these positions.

Advocacy Action Activity

Advocacy Action will be in the Gallery on Sunday, January 12, at 10:15 am with letters to our representatives and senators, welcoming them to the 119th Congress and asking them to be especially mindful of the vulnerable people in our society as they do their work.

Introducing the Rev. Jesús Reyes

From Scott+: I am glad to share with you that The Rev. Jesús Reyes is joining us for the next several months as Interim Assisting Priest for Latino Ministry at St. Michael’s. He will be with us as we begin our search for a new full-time Associate Rector. Jesús’ availability to us will be eight hours per week, so we will have welcome but limited support in his ministry among us.

We head into this new season looking forward to our Candlemas Evensong on Sunday, February 2, led by the St. Michael’s Singers, as well as our annual Broadway Night fundraiser for the music program on Friday, February 28, and Saturday, March 1.

The Library Team has been working hard to get the books in order by category, and there is a catalog of the books in alphabetical order by title or author. The Parish Library is located at the back (west side) of the Nativity Hall. Please respect the space and follow the library rules.
