Music news for May 15

Judith Weir (b. 1954) is the composer of our choral anthem this Sunday, “I love all beauteous things,” composed in 2016 with words by the poet Robert Bridges. Weir (CBE) is a British composer and first female Master of the Queen’s Music. She is celebrated for her operas and theatrical works as well as orchestral compositions and has taught at Princeton and Harvard. “I love all beauteous things” was commissioned by St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on the occasion of the Queen’s 90th birthday. We are happy to bring it over to this side of the Atlantic to give it a whirl!
