Music this Sunday

Our hymns this Pride Sunday at the 9 am and 11 am services reflect themes of inclusion, diversity, love, and hope as we celebrate our LGBTQ kindred. Meanwhile, our guest soloist at the prelude and offertory is violinist (and longtime congregant) Chad Southwell. He will play a contemporary Irish air as well as an arrangement of the theme song from the 1978 film The Deer Hunter called Cavatina (a musical term associated with a melodious air).

This August is Favorite Hymns Month!

Have a favorite hymn you’ve been dying to sing? We’re compiling a list of your favorite hymns to sing during the month of August at the 10am service. Please email Hannah at hannahb@stmaa.org by the end of July with the title, hymn number and tune name (if known) of your favorite hymns. We’ll program as many as we can in August!

Popup Recital

Kids AND adults are invited to prepare a musical number of your choice to perform at our Pop-up Music Recital on Sunday, August 9 in the Nativity Hall after the 10am service. Sing a song! Play an instrument (piano available)! Play a duet with a friend! It will be super informal and relaxed, so leave any nerves at the door and share a musical number with the community. Get in touch with Hannah Brewer at hannahb@stmaa.org to add your name to the performers’ list and/or if you need some piano accompaniment with your selection.
