Music for Sunday, March 3

On Sunday, March 3, we will have the pleasure of hearing Rev. R. Scott Painter at the piano for the prelude at 9:00 and 11:00 am, offering variations on the hymn tune ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus. At 9:00 am, the St. Michael’s Singers will present an anthem in Latin by the Polish composer Feliks Nowowiejski from his 1905 oratorio Kreuzauffindung (The Finding of the Cross). The excerpt Parce Domine would have been sung by a chorus of pilgrims, begging God for his forgiveness. Meanwhile, at 11:00 am, the Saints & Singers Choir and Choristers will sing an arrangement of the American folk hymn The Lone, Wild Bird, featuring Chad Southwell on violin.
