This year, on Sunday, June 8, we’re going to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost at the park! It will be at the same location as last year—Wilshire Park, Picnic Area C (look for the shelter and decorated tables), in NE Portland—at 11:00 am, rain or shine! Right now, Sunday looks quite warm, so plan accordingly (water, hats, etc.), though the park is quite shady. Wilshire Park is located on NE 33rd Ave. between Shaver and Skidmore. This bilingual worship service will take the place of the 9:00 and 11:00 am and 1:00 pm services, and the music will be led by El Coro de San Miguel. There will be a 7:30 service at St. Michael’s. This event is sponsored by the vestry, and they say that you’re free to bring whatever dish inspires you this year for the potluck. Please plan to bring your own chairs and/or blanket to sit on. You’re also invited to bring your own table service (plates, utensils), though there will be paper products available. And, of course, you’re still encouraged to dress for Pentecost, in red (symbolizing joy and the fire of the Holy Spirit), orange and/or yellow.
