Please join St. Michael’s Music Director & Organist Hannah Brewer in the Nativity Hall on Saturday, January 25, at 4:00 pm as she collaborates with her Episcopal musician colleague Emma Mildred Cowell in a program of vocal and piano music by Hungarian, Czech, and Polish composers.

This chamber music duo, Ensemble Boulanger (ensembleboulanger.com), enjoys researching and developing programs for more intimate spaces than the concert hall, highlighting the music of historical women composers in particular. A Tour of Eastern Europe is inspired by an upcoming choir tour of Prague, Krakow, and Budapest with Cantores in Ecclesia, the choral group in which Emma and Hannah first met a decade ago. The recital will feature well-known melodies by Antonín Dvořák, Franz Liszt, and Frédéric Chopin alongside lesser-known gems by composers like Maria Szymanowska, Agnes Tyrrell, and Dora Pejačević, among others. No tickets are required, but a $20 suggested donation would be appreciated to help fund the performers’ trip to Eastern Europe in June. Light refreshments will be provided.
