| You may hear the word “liturgy” used to describe our gatherings for worship. It comes from an old Greek word that means “the works of the people.” Worship is something we do together, and in worship we are blessed to go and serve in the world. As we look toward the new year in our life together, we invite you to consider opportunities to serve our worshiping community. | Liturgical ministries include offering the chalice as a Eucharistic Minister, guiding our ritual actions as a Crucifer or Acolyte, reading from Scripture as a Lector or leading prayers of the people as a Prayer Leader. If you’re more of a “behind the scenes” person, consider joining a team on Altar Guild to prepare the altar for worship (once or twice per month), helping run the A/V system, or baking bread for a weekend (recipes provided). Ushers offer a warm welcome and hospitality each time we gather. Serving together is a great way to make new friends and grow connections within the parish community. There are ways to get involved for most ages. To learn more about these opportunities and discern where best to serve, please contact Rev. Scott (scottp@stmaa.org) or Padre Toni (padretonia@stmaa.org) for an initial conversation. They can connect you with others who coordinate specific ministries. |
