I don’t stop giving thanks to God for you when I remember you in my prayers. Ephesians 1:16
Dear Friends,
New Year Greetings to you and yours!
I want to take an opportunity, on this ultimate day of 2025, to say how grateful I am for YOU. I give thanks for the community of faith, prayer, service and care that we make together as the people St. Michael’s. I give thanks for all the many ways you show up to be church in all the myriad ways there are to give and serve. I give thanks for our amazing staff, who bring a variety of gifts, experience, insight, and dedication to uphold us in our life together.
Especially on this seventh day of Christmas, I give thanks for how you helped to make a meaningful time of Advent & Christmas — decorating, and baking, preparing the altar, singing, ushering, serving in liturgy, fixing leaks, vacuuming carpets, emptying trash, stuffing envelope, serving meals and sharing love with our neighbors, showing up for each other.
And, finally, for the privilege of serving with you and being your priest: thank you, St. Michael’s.
With you into the New Year,
The Rev. R. Scott Painter, Rector
