Interfaith Power and Light is sponsoring a webinar entitled Inflation Reduction Act Resources to Electrify your Home at 4:00 pm on Thursday, September 7. To register, click here.
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which passed just one year ago, offers strategic incentives to make the transition to clean energy and carbon neutrality financially possible. For example, the IRA has created programs to help people swap out old, fossil-fueled appliances for new electric ones.
The IRA’s home energy offerings include upfront discounts, tax credits and low-cost financing that together provide a substantial pot of money to enable every household to electrify the machines they rely on. This includes the cars they drive, the way they heat the air and water in their homes, how they cook their food, dry their clothes, and get their power.
By shifting household energy use from fossil fuels to technologies that use renewable energy, people of faith can both achieve climate justice and keep the promises of their baptismal covenant. Jamal Lewis, Director of Policy Partnerships and Equitable Electrification for Rewiring America, will be part of the webinar’s conversation on electrification, what it looks like and what federal resources are available to help people achieve it.
