All three of the St. Michael’s Choirs – the St. Michael’s Singers, the St. Michael’s Choristers and the Saints & Singers – are still open to new members! If you are a young person between the ages of 8 and 18 who’s interested in singing (or the parent/guardian of one), it’s not too late to visit or join the St. Michael’s Choristers, led by St. Michael’s Choir Director Brian Fairbanks. Rehearsals run nearly every Wednesday through May at 4:45 pm. Choristers will sing one Sunday a month at the 9:00 or 11:00 am service and participate in Evening Prayer every Wednesday at 6:30 pm. Please contact Hannah Brewer or Brian Fairbanks for more information.
In addition, Saints & Singers (formerly known as Takes the Fifth Choir) is leading the music on Sunday, March 4, at the 11:00 am service. St. Michael’s Singers Choir Director Brian Fairbanks, who has considerable experience with alternative liturgies, has stepped up to lead the Saints & Singers, whose repertoire includes jazz/gospel/Americana music. Anyone interested in visiting or joining the choir is welcome to contact Brian or Music Director/Organist Hannah Brewer for more information. The choir rehearses on the Thursday evening before the first Sunday of the month and sings at 11:00 liturgy on that Sunday.
And of course, the St. Michael’s Singers have recovered now from a very successful Broadway Night fundraiser and are rehearsing Lenten music and looking towards Holy Week. They rehearse every Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in the Nativity Hall. If you are interested in joining them or just learning more, please email Hannah or Brian (addresses above).
