Announcing our New Associate Rector
I am very excited to share with you that The Rev. J. Antonio Álvarez (Padre Toni) has accepted my invitation to join us at St. Michael’s as Associate Rector for Latino Ministry and Formation. Padre Toni currently serves as Priest-in-charge of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Turlock, California. A child of Mexican immigrants and a native of the San Joaquin Valley of California, he is a bilingual and bicultural person and priest.

Music Update
At St. Michael’s on Sunday, June 22, we’re commemorating Juneteenth with inclusive hymns such as “All are welcome” and “Let streams of living justice flow down upon the earth.” Thanks again to Bob Spiers for substituting as organist while Hannah is away.

Pauli Murray Documentary Showing & Discussion
The St. Michael’s Immigrant Welcoming Congregation (IWC) Ministry’s Rainbow Initiative and our Reckoning with Racism Ministry are un-erasing Pauli Murray for Pride month. We invite you to come to a special showing and discussion at St. Michael’s on Sunday, June 29, from 3:30-5:30 pm, of the award-winning 2021 documentary “My Name is Pauli Murray.”

Employment Opportunity: Parish Administrator
St. Michael’s is looking for our next Parish Administrator to support the parish with communications, office & building management, and ministries & program support.

Pride Parade & T-Shirts
This year’s Portland Pride Parade is Sunday, July 20. We’ll be walking with Trinity Cathedral and other Episcopal churches. Come show your support for the LGBTQ+ community by marching with other St. Michael’s folks behind our big Pride banner.
