As a way of acting out our faith, we can engage with and help form public policy. Parishioner Peter Sergienko has been working for several years to draft and pass federal climate legislation to stop climate pollution that is commonly known as “The Earth Bill.” The Earth Bill network is now seeking senate sponsors, and we are hoping that Senator Merkley and/or Senator Wyden will do this. You can check your eblast to find a link to sign a letter to our senators asking for their sponsorship.

Several national and local faith groups have endorsed The Earth Bill including Interfaith Power and Light, GreenFaith, EcoFaith Recovery and Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon/Oregon Interfaith Power and Light.
