Souper Bowl of Caring

The Northeast Emergency Food Program (NEFP) was established in 1983 by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon to help meet the urgent food needs of our neighbors. NEFP grounds their work in the belief that nutritious food is a basic human need and a building block for a healthy life of possibility.

As the most active food pantry in Oregon, NEFP distributes a supply of nutritious groceries to our neighbors in need, frequently valued over $250. They offer a unique self-service shopping experience for guests, allowing them to select their choice of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, bread, meat and more. There are no quantity restrictions on most items in the pantry. They have signs in seven languages explaining “take what you need and leave enough for others.”

Donations can be made using St. Michael’s website for Souper Bowl of Caring, Or look for the smiling kids with great big soup pots as you exit church on February 8th and help us help our hungry neighbors. Cash or checks are gratefully accepted. Thank you, St. Michael’s!
