Put on your Advent blues

Dear Ones,

While I have felt your absence from the pews every Sunday since March, this past Sunday, as we started into a new season, I felt it in a new and deeper way. Advent held out as a promise that perhaps things would be different, and it was hard to put on our Advent blues and enter into the empty sanctuary for another season. Yet you all keep showing up! And that makes me and the whole team of clergy and staff keep going on as well. (If you’d like to see Team Llama’s re-creation of the Keep Going On song, you can view it here.)

The other thing that has kept us going and will keep us going in the New Year is your generosity in stewardship. To date, we have collected 164 pledge cards, which is 81% of our 2020 total, and $504,850 in pledged amount which is 90% of that total. This means that we are projected to have a 10% increase if we can bring in the rest of the pledge cards. Thank you! We know that this is a troubling and uncertain time, and the consistency of your giving has sustained our community.

Peace,
Chris
