Music Program News

If you missed the offertory solo from last Sunday (which you likely did if you were watching from home, as our livestream had audio issues), take a listen to this marvelous duet from St. Michael’s Singers soprano Beth Ilem and Choir Director Brian Fairbanks on flute as they present Craig Courtney’s Be not afraid, set to Isaiah 43:1-4.  Thank you to all our soloists this summer who provided such solace and beauty in these topsy-turvy times. Thanks to Brian Fairbanks especially for subbing for Hannah this coming Labor Day weekend at the 9:00 am service.

Our choir program is starting up again this month! While we will be taking extra precautions amidst the surging delta variant (such as masking at all times, social distancing, and rehearsing in more open spaces than our basement choir room), we are also committed to restarting in-person rehearsals (with a Zoom option) for the mental, emotional, and spiritual health of our members. We love to sing! We need to sing together. It’s time to regather and make complex, soul-satisfying music as a communal body of worshippers. If you or your child is interested in joining one of our choirs, please reach out to Music Director/Organist Hannah Brewer.
