Music for June 16 – 30

For the services on June 16, we welcome soprano Kaeli, who will sing an excerpt from Handel’s Messiah at the 9:00 am service. At the 11:00 am service, soprano Jennifer will sing Schubert’s classic Ave Maria. Also featured are a few musical selections to honor the Juneteenth holiday, including an organ prelude composed by Uzee Brown, Jr., who teaches at the HBCU Morehouse College in Atlanta.

Next Sunday, June 23, we’ll have a voice and flute duet at 9:00 am. At both the 9:00 and 11:00 am services on that Sunday, associate clergy (and former interim rector) the Rev. Sherman Hesselgrave and Hannah Brewer will play piano duets by Debussy as the prelude and postlude. Finally, on June 30, a pickup choir will lead the music for our sung 10:00 am service as we begin our summer schedule.
