This Sunday at 10am we are privileged to have Tito Amaya, Misa musician extraordinaire, providing and leading the music for our church picnic service at Wilshire Park. This bilingual service will be flexible and paperless, with mostly familiar melodies to enjoy or learn. Join in with gusto to celebrate our diverse church community (and the slightly cooler weather expected by Sunday)!
A musical event coming up that may interest you is the twenty-third William Byrd Festival August 5-21, postponed two years due to the pandemic. St. Michael’s members Hannah Brewer and Ann Wetherell will be singing in the festival, which includes concerts, services, and lectures devoted to the music of Renaissance England’s greatest composer, William Byrd (1540-1623). Of particular interest may be the Choral Evensong at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on Sunday, August 14 at 5pm, preceded by a free organ recital at 4:15pm given by Mark Williams of Magdalen College, Oxford. Check our gallery for flyers for more info and for ticket information for the opening and closing concerts at St. Philip Neri Church in SE Portland. This will be music-making at its finest!
