Christmas is nearly upon us! Celebrate the season in all its comforting glory by coming to our Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols this Sunday at 5:00 pm. Experience both familiar hymns and stories and some alternate tunes and poems to expand our ears and hearts, as presented by the St. Michael’s Singers and Choristers, with Choir Director Brian Fairbanks and organist Hannah Brewer. A festive reception follows the service. Don’t hesitate to invite family, friends, and neighbors to this beautiful (and FREE!) event to mark the culmination of the season.
On Christmas Eve, you can look forward to hearing our young Choristers at the 4:00 pm family service. The Saints & Singers Choir will lead at 6:00 pm, along with O Holy Night sung by professional soloists. At 10:30 pm, the St. Michael’s Singers will present 30 minutes of carols, hymns, and motets, followed by our majestic 11:00 pm service full of “smells and bells,” including all the traditional descants as well as anthems by Moses Hogan and Tomás Luis de Victoria. If the relaxed, intimate Christmas Day service is more your jam, you’ll hear your music staff Brian and Hannah collaborating while the choirs have the holiday off. Come celebrate with us!
