Centering Prayer is one form of intentional silent-sitting practice that invites the grace of Christian contemplation. With the use of the breath or sacred word, we consent in the silence to God’s presence and action within.
Our open community group began as a contemplative evening prayer service in 2002. All are welcome. We currently gather at St. Michael’s House (the bungalow just north of the church on NE 43rd Avenue) on the first and third Monday of each month from 7:00-8:30 pm. We share two 20-minutes sessions of Centering practice and also include reflective reading from Scripture, book discussion, or facilitated conversation that relates to our common practice.
