Join us for a special forum with Jo Bronson this coming Sunday, February 4, at 10:15 am in which she will share her experience and insight that comes from serving at the Episcopal Technological Vocational Training Center in Ramallah, Palestine, for the last 20+ years. There will be a time for questions to learn more about the current violence.
Jo is a retired schoolteacher, who found her passion while traveling to the Holy Lands. She was attending St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Ramallah, Palestine, when she heard Assis Hana say, “What we need are teachers.” That comment resonated.
In 2012, Jo made her first trip back to Palestine. This time it was to volunteer, as a teacher for the Episcopal Technological Vocational Training Center, a two-year vocational high school. There she fell in love with the staff, the students, and the Palestinians she met in daily life.
Since then, she has traveled to Palestine twice a year to help the students with conversational English. She was in Palestine when the 2023 war started and refused to leave until her designated time was up. Jo had no idea the impact that decision would have on the Palestinians, who feel abandoned by the world. Yes, she plans on returning, war or no war, in March.
