Tuesday Evenings in Lent: Feasting on the Word

February 23, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Do you have a devotional practice around what you read in the morning? Would you like to develop one? Many people of prayer have kept books of inspirational texts and poetry nearby to tune their hearts with first thing in the morning. This is actually a very ancient practice in which monks would read aloud spiritual classics to one another during their times of prayer. During these six weeks, we’ll take a look at some of the texts which have been used for this purpose throughout the Church’s history as well as what contemporary quotes, authors, and poems we might want to include today. Each week will revolve around a major topic of faith, and throughout the course we’ll work on creating our own scrapbooks or notebooks of key texts that we wish to use to remind ourselves daily of the God we seek to find in our lives and the world. This class will meet Tuesday nights from February 23rd-March 30th from 6:30-8:00 pm.
