Come Home

“Like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house.” (1 Peter 2:5)

Dear Friends,

“Come home.”

Sunday marks our return to a fuller experience of the life we share at St. Michael’s.  Choirs return, new gatherings for prayer and spiritual formation are beginning, connection groups start up again, our Fall worship schedule and office hours are coming online.

This year we are calling the first Sunday back “Homecoming Sunday.”  This is on purpose!  When we come together, we make a spiritual home together.  More than home as a cozy or static place to be: when we come together we make deeper connections, and inspire one another to grow, and hold one another in fearful times, and stir up faith, and seek justice, and manifest joy, and encourage resilience, and live in love!

We’re all acutely aware of the perilous times in which we live.  It’s not time to be isolated or separated from one another.  (No time is, really.) We need one another.

I can’t wait to welcome you home, this Sunday and in the weeks to come.

With you,

Scott+
