Welcoming the Rev. Nancy Frausto

On Sunday, October 27, we welcome The Rev. Nancy Frausto to preach at the 9:00 and 11:00 am services in English and the 1:00 pm in Spanish. Nancy was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and immigrated to the U.S. as a child. She is the first and only DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) beneficiary priest in the Episcopal Church and a founding member of the Diocese of Los Angeles Sanctuary Task Force.

Summer Schedule for Services & Church Office

Our summer schedule begins on Sunday, June 30! Our services will be at 8:00 am (Rite I) and 10:00 am. We hope that this more relaxed schedule will work well for clergy, staff and parishioners, and will offer the opportunity for people who consistently attend the 9:00 or the 11:00 to worship together for a couple of months.

Upcoming Music Events

Sunday, February 4, is our first Choral Evensong of 2024! Please join us at 5:00 pm as we celebrate the Feast of Candlemas, commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the Temple forty days after Christmas. The St. Michael’s Singers and Choristers will join forces for a variety of joyous (David Hogan’s “Washington” canticles) and luminous (Howard Helvey’s “O lux beatissima”) choral works.

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

You’re invited to a special Misa on Monday, December 11, at 8:00 pm to celebrate Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. A convivio feast will begin the celebration at 8:00, followed by the service at about 9:45 pm. The service will be in Spanish, but all are welcome to attend.

Summer Schedule Changes

Our summer Sunday schedule begins on June 18. Our morning services will be at 7:30 and 10:00 am, and the 1:00 pm service in Spanish will continue as usual. If there are forums, as there is on June 18, those will happen at 11:15 am. The 10:00 am service will continue to be livestreamed as usual.

Bishop’s Visitation on May 1

On Sunday, May 1, we welcome Bishop Diana Akiyama to St. Michael’s. Bishop Diana will preach and preside at the 9:00 and 11:00 am services, and the Rev. Sherman Hesselgrave will assist. She will also preside and preach (with translation help) at the 1:00 pm service. Padre Beto will assist. We have several young people who will be confirmed at the morning services, and one member will be received into the Episcopal Church at the 11:00 am service.
