Día de los Niños is back on Sunday, April 30, at 2:15 pm! There will be a special blessing offered at the 1:00 pm service for all St. Michael’s children, and all are invited to stay after the service and enjoy traditional carnival games, yummy treats and piñatas in the Nativity Hall.

Godly Play Resumes

We are so happy to reopen our Godly Play classroom! Children in pre-K through 5th grade (parents and older siblings, too) are welcome to join the circle. We began last week with “The Story of Creation” and continue this coming Sunday, October 30, with “The Flood and the Ark.”

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

School-age children are invited to attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word each Sunday – even in the summer! Children leave after the Opening Collect and return to the gathered community at the Peace. Children’s Liturgy meets on the lower level in front of the big mural where we share stories of God’s love in the world drawing on a variety of children’s literature.

“Palm Sunday is the first day of Holy Week (the final week of Lent) and honors Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem as depicted in the Gospels. As Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem, crowds gathered in the streets laying coats in his path, thus treating Jesus like royalty. they also laid palm branches, an ancient symbol of victory and peace, in the road.”

Welcome to God’s Table

We are excited to announce that a brand-new class created especially for young people will be presented by Leslie Sackett, Brian Fairbanks and Hannah Brewer this Lenten season. Students in 2nd through 8th grades are invited and encouraged to attend! We will meet on Sunday afternoons in the Nativity Hall on March 6, 13, 20 and April 3 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

A Young People’s Lessons & Carols

A Young People’s Lessons & Carols will be presented on Saturday, December 18, at 4:30 pm. We are grateful for parishioner and associate clergy the Rev. Bob Macauley, who will preside at the service; for organist Hannah Brewer who will play Advent and Christmas hymns for all to sing; and for the children and youth who will read the appointed lessons foretelling the coming of the Christ Child.
