On Sunday, May 1, we welcome Bishop Diana Akiyama to St. Michael’s. Bishop Diana will preach and preside at the 9:00 and 11:00 am services, and the Rev. Sherman Hesselgrave will assist. She will also preside and preach (with translation help) at the 1:00 pm service. Padre Beto will assist.

We have several young people who will be confirmed at the morning services, and one member will be received into the Episcopal Church at the 11:00 am service. We are so glad to also honor a larger group who participated in the Confirm not Conform program with Chris Craun. They began their journey in the fall of 2019 and were preparing to be confirmed at the Bishop’s Visitation in spring of 2020 when the pandemic hit. There are also 11 young people who attend the Spanish-language services and who have been studying and praying together for many months. Coming from both St. Michael’s and Iglesia Santa Cruz/Holy Cross, they will be confirmed by the bishop at the 1:00 pm Misa on Sunday.

Please check on the Welcome Table in the Gallery for Bishop’s Discretionary Fund envelopes and make a gift if possible. These funds are used to assist those studying for ordained ministry and all clergy families in difficult financial situations.
