Advocacy Day on Monday, April 7

Through a generous grant from our Outreach & Justice Council, St. Michael’s is sponsoring Advocacy Day on April 7. This will be a day of building community, sharing our stories and advocating for values-based legislation in Salem through group meetings with our legislators. The five priority bills we support all strongly align with St. Michael’s values and priorities: Food for All Oregonians, Increasing Rent and Housing Assistance, Fully Funding Special Education, Make Polluters Pay, and Farmworker Disaster Relief. Registration is through the Oregon Synod here.

This event will start at First United Methodist Church in Salem at 9:30 am to discuss our priorities. After lunch, there will be ample time for meetings with legislators. There is no cost for this event, but you may choose to make a contribution when you register. Carpools to Salem will be organized, leaving Portland at approximately 7:45 am. If you have any questions, please email Peter Sergienko here.
