Music This Sunday

Sunday’s music is thematically linked to integrate with the morning’s gospel teaching of the commandments of love (“Love the Lord your God” and “Love your neighbor as yourself”). The music also features traditionally American tunes. The choir will sing a rousing arrangement of the Quaker hymn “How can I keep from singing?” as well as the Shaker song “Love is little.” Similarly, the piano voluntaries are songs of love, including “There is a name I love to hear,” whose tune originates from camp-meetings of 19th century America.
