| Music this Sunday |
| On Sunday, the St. Michael’s Singers is split between the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services in a fresh way. The sopranos and altos of the choir will sing an anthem by Felix Mendelssohn at 9am, while the tenors and basses will hold down the 11am service with a traditional folk hymn in four-part harmony. We’ll also be singing our pledge cards down the aisle at both services. Choral Evensong The Feast of St. Cecilia Sunday, November 23 at 5pm The next big music event at St. Michael’s is our Choral Evensong for the Feast of St. Cecilia. St. Cecilia is the patron saint of music and musicians, making her feast day (transferred from November 22) a fitting date to commemorate. Choral music will include works by Orlando Gibbons (for the 400th anniversary of his death), Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, and Herbert Howells (A Hymn to St. Cecilia). |
