Dear Friends,

I am glad to share with you that The Rev. Jesús Reyes is joining us for the next several months as Interim Assisting Priest for Latino Ministry at St. Michael’s. He will be with us as we begin our search for a new full-time Associate Rector. Jesús’ availability to us will be eight hours per week, so we will have welcome but limited support in his ministry among us.

On two Sundays each month, Jesús+ will preach and lead worship at the 1:00 service, along with special liturgies and some “5th Sundays.” He will also assist with pastoral care, leadership development and advising us in continuing to build our multicultural parish identity.

Padre Jesús will also be working with the Diocese, advising Bishop Akiyama for Latino Ministry, and providing some clergy support for the good people of Iglesia Santa Cruz in Gresham. On the Sundays when he is here with us, he won’t be there, and vice versa. Padre Jesús’ first Sunday with us will be January 19 at the 1:00 service; and he will assist at the 9:00, 11:00, and 1:00 services on January 26. Please join me in welcoming him to St. Michael’s!
