On Saturday, November 18, at 2:00 pm, all are invited to St. Michael’s to hear Music Director/Organist Hannah Brewer perform several piano trios with her group, the Cascadia Chamber Ensemble. The program, which they have been rehearsing since June, includes Mozart’s delightfully sunny Piano Trio in G Major, K 496, Rachmaninov’s “Élégiaque” Piano Trio No. 1 in G minor (a moody, dramatic work in one movement), and concludes with Joaquín Turina’s jazzy, Spanish-influenced Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 35. The suggested donation is $10-15.

Also coming up is our annual candlelit service of Lessons & Carols, happening on Saturday, December 16, at 7:00 pm, with music led by the St. Michael’s Singers. More information on this lovely Advent service is forthcoming.

More information about the music program at St. Michael’s…

We’re excited that the St. Michael’s Singers are back and leading the singing on Sundays — the full choir at one morning service (alternating between 9:00 and 11:00 am) and a chamber choir at the other.

After a lengthy audition and discernment process, we are very happy to announce that a new Choir Director has been chosen! Please welcome Brian Fairbanks, who brings a wealth of Episcopal choral knowledge and experience to the position here. Brian has worked as a musician, singer, and conductor for many years at St. Mark’s Cathedral, Seattle, including helping to expand the children’s music program. Check the latest Messenger newsletter for a fuller bio of Brian.
