The St. Michael’s Singers are on hiatus for the summer, although of course we enjoy their musical leadership in the pews! While we await their return on September 10, organist Hannah Brewer continues to support the congregational singing with organ and piano.

In addition, Hannah recruits some of our other talented parishioners and friends of St. Michael’s to share their musical gifts with us from time to time. We enjoyed Audrey Sackett, Associate for Ministry with Children, as the guest soloist on August 6. On Sunday, August 13, please welcome guest musician (and Forum leader) Doug Smith on guitar at the 9:00 and 11:00 am services, playing an original composition during the offertory. The prelude and postlude will feature our own Chad Southwell on violin playing two sonata movements by Baroque composer George Frederic Handel and accompanied by the harpsichord.

Other guest musicians will include the Rad Trads (a jazz band featuring Patrick Sargent on saxophone) on August 20 at 11:00 am, and 17-year-old parishioner and clarinetist Emily Geoffroy playing Brahms on August 27.
