We’re excited that the St. Michael’s Singers are back and leading the singing on Sundays — the full choir at one morning service (alternating between 9:00 and 11:00 am) and a chamber choir at the other.

After a lengthy audition and discernment process, we are very happy to announce that a new Choir Director has been chosen! Please welcome Brian Fairbanks, who brings a wealth of Episcopal choral knowledge and experience to the position here. Brian has worked as a musician, singer, and conductor for many years at St. Mark’s Cathedral, Seattle, including helping to expand the children’s music program. The St. Michael’s Singers are looking forward to tapping into Brian’s innate musicality, connective spirituality and organizational nature. Look for more info about Brian in the next Messenger, and watch for information soon regarding Takes the Fifth Choir & Band.

If you think you may be interested in joining the St. Michael’s Singers (Wednesday evening rehearsals) or Takes the Fifth Choir (who sing once a month), please contact Music Director/Organist Hannah Brewer at hannahcbrewer@gmail.com. Here are some dates to look forward to on the music calendar at St. Michael’s:

  • Wednesday, November 1, 7:00 pm – Choral Evensong for All Saints Day
  • Saturday, November 18, 2:00 pm – Cascadia Chamber Ensemble presents a program of Mozart, Turina, and Rachmaninoff piano trios
  • Saturday, December 16, 7:00 pm – Candlelit service of Lessons & Carols led by the St. Michael’s Singers
