The Monday Book Group will continue to meet throughout the summer on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 1:00 pm in the Raphael Room. On May 22, the group will watch a segment from the video series Living the Questions entitled Thinking Theologically. They have watched parts of this series previously and have found the 20-minute video portions provocative, interesting and sure to encourage a lively discussion. The series of 21 videos deal with three different themes: Journey, Reconciliation and Transformation.
The various topics are presented by a group of over thirty eminent theologians, scholars and other experts, both lay people and clergy, who explore an inclusive, progressive, open and broadminded Christianity. The group will watch some of the videos not already seen during the summer and may also do some other stand-alone activities such as bringing and sharing a favorite poem, essay or book. They will not read and discuss another book until fall since many folks are in and out of town during the summer.
Be sure to check the Sunday bulletins to see what is happening on a given meeting day. If you have never come to Monday Book Group and would like to be part of a small group of interesting, funny and friendly lovers of books, this would be a great time to check them out! Everyone is welcome.
